Drawn Together: Auckland Castle

Making Art in Historic Buildings

As two of the most spectacular historic buildings in the northeast of England, Auckland Castle and Hexham Abbey have attracted great artists over the centuries.

During June 2013 they open their doors in partnership with World Monuments Fund so that you too can create artworks inspired by the iconic architecture of these buildings. Materials will be provided for adults and children. An artist-in-residence will be on hand to show techniques and provide encouragement.

All artwork created during Drawn Together can be entered into a competition for display in the magnificent spaces of Durham Cathedral throughout the duration of the Lindisfarne Gospels exhibition from July to September 2013.
