The Historic Center of Lima: Cultural Heritage at Risk

The Historic Center of Lima: Cultural Heritage at Risk presents the architectural treasures of Peru’s capital city, a 2008 Watch site, and demonstrates its importance both today and when it was a Spanish colonial city of great wealth. The exhibition, supported by WMF, illustrates the transformation of Lima from its earliest settlement through its colonial period and its emergence as a vital capital city in contemporary Latin America. The show originated in Lima, Peru and has since been on view in Ecuador, Cuba, Spain and now is presented to audiences in Rome.
