H. Peter Stern Lecture

Established in 2012 to honor H. Peter Stern, a trustee of World Monuments Fund from 1972 to 2011, the H. Peter Stern Lecture focuses on travel, evoking the global nature of the work of World Monuments Fund.
Presented each spring by acclaimed writers and renowned storytellers, Stern Lectures explore the transformative power of travel and echo the global nature of the work of World Monuments Fund.
This annual lecture series extends the legacy of longtime World Monuments Fund trustee H. Peter Stern, who has championed WMF’s work since 1970. A noted philanthropist and the co-founder and longtime chairman of Storm King Art Center, Mr. Stern continues to inspire dedication to the organization. Drawing inspiration from the work of Arnold Toynbee, whose twelve-volume analysis of the rise and fall of civilizations greatly influenced Mr. Stern and encouraged him to travel across the globe, WMF established the H. Peter Stern Lecture in 2012 to honor his legacy of service.
The H. Peter Stern Lecture series is made possible through the support of Helen W. Drutt English.
