Alexandria Zoo

The Alexandria Zoo is a poster child for how innovative modern architecture can become embroiled in political and social change.  Its futuristic modern buildings were commissioned by government in 1958 and once stood at the cutting edge of zoo design.  Now part of a decrepit zoo that has become notorious for its poor operation and maintenance, it seems perhaps the only way these buildings can be saved is by repurposing them for alternative uses.
