Amanda Raquel Dorval joined WMF in December 2021 as Archives Intern. She has seven years of experience as an Iraqi Arabic linguist in the U.S. Air Force, where she developed a passion for the languages and culture of the Middle East. She is also a part-time Bibliographer of Indigenous American Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Watson Library, and a Research Fellow at the Hispanic Society Museum & Library. She had previous internship experiences at the Jewish Museum, Brooklyn Museum, and Wildenstein Plattner Institute. Amanda received her BA in art history from Barnard College, and will graduate in May 2022 from Long Island University Post with a Masters in Library and Information Science with concentrations in Archives Management and Rare Book and Special Collections. She will be entering a second graduate program for Near Eastern Studies this fall at New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
