Montgomery Central High School

A most unusual educational building in the United States, Montgomery Central High School is distinguished by its pod-like shallow concrete domes which extend from the main building hovering over a man-made lake. Completed in the early 1970s and designed by John Shaver, the school has undergone major renovations, though still retaining much of its essential architectural character. Interestingly, the design is reminiscent of manta-rays leaping out of the water!
