World Monuments Fund Presents

World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize Recipients

WMF launched the biennial World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize with founding sponsor Knoll in 2008 to raise awareness about preservation success stories in buildings that are emblematic of the modern movement. As many modern buildings are too young to qualify for landmark designation and protection, the need for preservation and increased public awareness of these unique sites is urgent.

The prize raises awareness about modern preservation success stories, recognizing outstanding and innovative preservation projects that saved a threatened modern building. In this slideshow, explore past recipients and discover the projects the World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize seeks to encourage in support of modern heritage around the world.

Do you know of a project, completed in the last ten years, to conserve or restore a modern site facing challenges or threats?
