ABC de la Conservación de Viviendas Tradicionales

Established as Venezuela's main port in the sixteenth century, the historic city of La Guaira boasts a significant collection of colonial buildings and public spaces that were severely affected by a series of mudslides in 1999, and subsequently neglected for several years. Following the city's inclusion in the 2004 and 2006 World Monuments Watch, the local government and educational entities worked to develop an urban rehabilitation plan for the city. This publication was developed from 2008-2009 by the Universidad Simon Bolivar-Instituto de Estudios Regionales as a manual for the conservation of traditional houses in La Guaira.
