Route 66 Economic Impact Study- Synthesis of Findings

To better understand and quantify the positive effects of historic preservation along Route 66 and related tourism activities, an Economic Impact Study was undertaken by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in collaboration with the US National Park Service and World Monuments Fund, with the support of American Express. This volume, the Synthesis of Findings, summarizes the outcomes of the study and identifies opportunities for the preservation of Route 66 to enhance community revitalization, economic development, and sustainable tourism along America’s iconic Mother Road.
