Sean Piazza joined World Monuments Fund in March 2020, overseeing global communications and content strategy. Sean was previously with the International Rescue Committee, where he served as Senior Officer and lead for the IRC's work in the United States–overseeing the development of a national and regional communications strategy around asylum, refugee resettlement, and integration. In his time there, Sean led critical reactive campaigns for the IRC including the Travel Ban and Family Separation Crisis–while guiding proactive storytelling efforts, and executive positioning, to showcase the IRC's thought leadership and programs expertise in the US context.
Prior to IRC, Sean served in private sector roles–first as a Corporate Social Responsibility consultant with APCO Worldwide in New York, and later as a member of Gap Inc.'s corporate communications team based in San Francisco. Sean holds an MS in International Affairs from the New School, and a BS in Corporate Public Relations from Appalachian State University.
