Torres Blancas
Every time you look up it shows a new face, it's endless.
Torres Blancas, a luxury apartment tower rising high above the Madrid skyline, shattered any conventions of residential housing in place prior to their completion in 1969. Designed by Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza, the tower incorporates a complicated and innovative structural system of reinforced concrete construction. Considered to be a stylistic icon of Organicism, the tower’s daring architectural composition of soaring cylindrical volumes is punctuated by round overhanging balconies. Interestingly, the tower was a favored residence of bullfighters and pilots, thanks to its close proximity to Madrid’s Barajas airport.
