US Ambassador to Cambodia Visits Phnom Bakheng Site

Carol A. Rodley, US Ambassador to Cambodia, visited Phnom Bakheng at Angkor, the site of WMF's conservation project of this great 11th century temple. The US Department of State awarded funds toward a comprehensive stone conservation program and is also interested in learning more about the tourism management challenges at the site, which is often very crowded at the end of the day when people climb the hill to see the sunset and the commanding view of the temples at Angkor and the surrounding countryside.

Ambassador Rodley and Konstanze von zur Muehlen, WMF's project director at Angkor, stopped by the new sign at Phnom Bakheng, which describes the collaboration between APSARA, WMF and the US Department of State at Phnom Bakheng.
