Attend the screening of select films from Africa’s Cultural Landmarks, a new documentary series produced by The Metropolitan Museum of Art with World Monuments Fund (WMF). Africa’s Cultural Landmarks highlights Africa’s diverse architectural vernaculars and preservation efforts against a backdrop of challenges. These films foreground local perspectives and stewardship, bridging ancestral legacies with contemporary narratives.

The post-screening Q&A will feature director Sosena Solomon; WMF Senior Regional Director of Africa Stephen Battle; Alisa LaGamma, The Met’s Ceil and Michael E. Pulitzer Curator in Charge; and journalist, documentary filmmaker, and podcast producer Bola Mosuro.

Since its inception, 1-54 has established itself as a leading voice in the global discussion on contemporary African art and has been at the forefront of the African art market with annual editions across three continents. This event is a part of the Fair's special curated events programme for 2025.
