Deep within Río Abiseo National Park—a UNESCO Mixed World Heritage Site—an interdisciplinary team embarks on a unique journey to investigate and preserve the archaeological site of Gran Pajatén, cultural legacy of the Chachapoya.
Abiseo, Cultural Forest of the Chachapoya, directed by Rosemarie Lerner (Lúcida Media), documents conservation efforts and the challenges of working in one of the most remote and valuable landscapes on the planet.
This documentary will screen at the UTEC University Auditorium. After the screening, join us for a discussion panel about the project's challenges and findings with special guests: Juan Pablo de la Puente, executive director of WMF Peru; Giancarlo Marcone, director of the UTEC Office of University Sustainability; Dr. Ricardo Morales, coordinator of the conservation component of the project; and Dr. Adine Gavazzi, coordinator of the technomorphology component of the project.
Admission to the event is free but registration is required.
