Lisa Ackerman, World Monuments Fund Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will provide an overview of WMF’s current work that ranges from conservation to the development of site management plans. WMF’s work often includes the engagement of local communities in opportunities to conserve sites, improve stewardship, and increase public appreciation. Projects discussed may include the Forum Boarium in Rome, Italy; Babylon in Iraq; Taos Pueblo in New Mexico, United States; Sumda Chun in Ladakh, India; the Qianlong Garden in Beijing, China; and twentieth-century masterpieces that are increasingly being threatened with demolition.
