Can we reimagine loss as a positive transformation? We look at a range of case studies from around the world, including the coastal slave forts of Ghana, Scott’s Huts of the Antarctic, Orford Ness and Fort Henry (UK), and many more. Our panel includes Caitlin DeSilvey (University of Exeter), Imogen Wood (National Trust), Kwasi Addo (University of Ghana), Ruth Mullett (UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, Tanya Venture (University of Exeter), and John Darlington (WMF Britain).

Coastal Connections is a joint initiative between World Monuments Fund and English Heritage to facilitate knowledge exchange and best practice amongst site managers, communities and those who care for coastal heritage sites worldwide. Our series of workshops draws on case studies and real-world experience to offer new perspectives, broaden understanding and explore practical solutions for improving the sustainable management of coastal heritage sites.
