Considerations for the Conservation and Preservation of the Historic City of Angkor Report I

Summarizes the conservation needs of the historic city of Angkor, the capital seat of the Khmer empire between the 9th and 13th centuries, following the prolonged abandonment of the site. Issued after the last of three field missions to Angkor that was organized by World Monuments Fund in March 1992, this report stresses the need for educating a new generation of Cambodian conservators, in the wake of the previous decade of strife.
