Reports From the Field: Haiti's Gingerbread Houses

This 2019 lecture focuses on the challenges of recovery work undertaken in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, after the devastating earthquake of January 2010 that caused immense destruction to the country’s built fabric. Conor Bohan, from Haitian Education & Leadership Program, discusses the important partnership role that World Monuments Fund played with other organizations, such as Institut du Patrimoine Wallon, HELP, and FOKAL, to organize a group of skilled heritage practitioners to advance conservation and stabilization efforts in the Gingerbread Neighborhood and throughout Haiti.
