Tour and Garden Reception at Morris-Jumel Mansion

Friends of WMF

Friends of WMF are invited to celebrate the start of summer with a private tour and garden reception at Manhattan’s oldest house, Morris-Jumel Mansion. Perched on a Washington Heights hilltop, this Palladian mansion served as George Washington’s Revolutionary War headquarters during the fall of 1776, and it has been the site of two WMF field schools for students from Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design. Our 2013 Friends Tour will provide an intimate look at the architecture and colorful history of this important house, along with its diverse collection of decorative arts and picturesque garden. Please join us!
